Uitzet 1730

Uitzet 1730 is a Belgian beer. It is brewed by Brewery Van Steenberge Ertvelde commissioned microbrewery Paeleman Wetteren.

"Uitzet 1730" has already been brewed since 1730 by brewer-innkeeper Van Petegem. In 1798 there was even a treatise written about by Dr. Wauters, who attributed healing properties. About the origin of the name "Uitzet = Expansion" is the anecdote told that the brewery was on fire and the villagers came to the brewer warn. These called them not to extinguish the fire immediately but first off the beer.

Uitzet 1730 is a blonde triple with an alcohol content of 6.8%. 1730 refers to the year of the first Uitzet  beer.
Uitzet Kriek Beer is a cherry with an alcohol content of 7.5%. Per 100 liters of beer 30 kilograms Polish cherries is added and this fruit is matured for six months on the beer before it is bottled beer. This beer is brewed in the microbrewery itself.
