Stella Artois

Stella Artois is a Belgian lager, brewed in Leuven, and falls under the group AB InBev. It has an alcohol content of 5.2%. The beer came in 1926, when it as 'Christmas beer' under the name Stella (Latin for star) was put on the market. The recipe is since then regularly changed so that the beer has become considerably less. Bitter, in particular, in the last few years.

However, the actual history of Stella Artois goes back to 1366, the year that also on the logo. From the tax registers of the city of Leuven of that year shows that the inn-Den Hoorn brewery, the original brewery, already existed. On June 13, 1708 Sebastian Artois earned the coveted title of Master Brewer. Since then, the name attached to the Artois beer.

Stella Artois is the years one of the international brands of InBev became, and has a large market share. Including in the United Kingdom and Ireland Abroad, the brand is positioned as a premium lager, and it is also relatively expensive. (In Britain, for example, the advertising slogan "Reassuringly expensive".) In the home market of Belgium, it is a normal lager. In the Netherlands, the brand will not be actively promoted in the coming years. To be able to compete with other players in the Dutch market at the InBev seemed wiser to compete over the existing brand Dommelsch. Like a number of other brands of InBev Stella Artois sold under other plastic and glass bottles.
