Originally brewed as a Christmas beer this irresistible dark beer of
7.1% alcohol by volume became a permanent value in our range of Ter
Dolen beers almost immediately.
It is a neutral, lightly sweet,
fruity and soft top-fermented dark abbey beer brewed with three
different kinds of malt and two hops with the addition of light and dark
candy sugar. |
|
The most common malt for this beer is Münchener barley malt.
This barley is dried at a slightly higher temperature in the kilns, which creates a dark malt.
This is why you can also taste a biscuit-like flavour in the Ter Dolen Dark. |
|
Additionally there is a slight hint of caramel from a portion of
caramelized malt, plus the typical flavours of light and dark candy
sugar.
Ter Dolen Dark also has fermentation in the bottle.
Winnar of the bronze medal on the Brussels Beer Challenge!!! |
